2He lifted me out of the pit of destruction, out of the sticky mud. He stood me on a rock. He made my feet steady.
3He put a new song in my mouth. It was a song of praise to our God. Many people will see this and worship him. Then they will trust the Lord.
MONDAY
Read John 16:30-33(ICB)
30We can see now that you know all things. You can answer a person’s question even before he asks it. This makes us believe that you came from God.”
31Jesus answered, “So now you believe?
32Listen to me. A time is coming when you will be scattered. Each of you will be scattered to your own home. That time is now here. You will leave me. I will be alone. But I am never really alone. Why? Because the Father is with me.
33“I told you these things so that you can have peace in me. In this world you will have trouble. But be brave! I have defeated the world!”
Nothing that happens will ever change the fact that God is with me and loves me.
TUESDAY
Read Deuteronomy 31:6(ICB)
6Be strong and brave. Don’t be afraid of them. Don’t be frightened. The Lord your God will go with you. He will not leave you or forget you.”
AFRAID / BRAVE / FORGET /
WITH YOU / STRONG
Be _____________ and _____________. Don’t be _____________ of them. The Lord your God will go _____________. God will not leave you or _____________ you.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
I can be brave because I know that God will NEVER leave me.
WEDNESDAY
Read Esther 4:10-14(ICB)
10Then Esther told Hathach to say to Mordecai,
11“All the royal officers and people of the royal areas know this: No man or woman may go to the king in the inner courtyard without being called. There is only one law about this. Anyone who enters must be put to death. But if the king holds out his gold scepter, that person may live. And I have not been called to go to the king for 30 days.”
12And Esther’s message was given to Mordecai.
13Then Mordecai gave orders to say to Esther: “Just because you live in the king’s palace, don’t think that out of all the Jews you alone will escape.
14You might keep quiet at this time. Then someone else will help and save the Jews. But you and your father’s family will all die. And who knows, you may have been chosen queen for just such a time as this.”
The Jews were in trouble. They needed rescue. Esther could ask
the king for help, but this was risky. And yet, Mordecai reminded her that maybe this was the very reason she had been placed in the palace. Wow! Think of your life and the people God has placed in it. Have you ever considered that you might be in a position to do something for God that no one else can do?
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
No matter my situation, I have an opportunity to love like God.
THURSDAY
Read Isaiah 46:8-10(ICB)
8“Remember this, and do not forget it! Think about these things, you who turn against God.
9Remember what happened long ago. Remember that I am God. There is no other God. I am God. There is no one like me.
10From the beginning I told you what would happen in the end. A long time ago I told you things that have not yet happened. When I plan something, it happens. I do the things I want to do.
28We know that in everything God works for the good of those who love him. They are the people God called, because that was his plan.
For those who love God, all things work together for what?
Think of a situation you are facing that is not how you want it to be.
Consider this: God can bring something good from it!
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Bad things happen, but nothing can keep God from doing something good.
CHECK IT OUT
Life can feel like a maze at times. You think you know what’s ahead, but suddenly you hit a dead end, or something happens that you didn’t expect.
When life takes an unexpected turn, remember this: God is still working. Events might happen that surprise you, but God isn’t surprised. God is with you always, and God’s promises are still the same. In every twist and turn, keep trusting God!
JUNIORS CHALLENGE
Pray for someone you know who is facing something unexpected. If possible, do something to help the person or to show you care.
