2He lifted me out of the pit of destruction, out of the sticky mud. He stood me on a rock. He made my feet steady.
3He put a new song in my mouth. It was a song of praise to our God. Many people will see this and worship him. Then they will trust the Lord.
WE ARE USING THE INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN'S BIBLE VERSION (ICB) OF THE BIBLE
1Lord, you have been our home since the beginning.
2Before the mountains were born, and before you created the earth and the world, you are God. You have always been, and you will always be.
How long will God be God?
WEDNESDAY
Read Isaiah 41:10 (ICB)
10So don’t worry, because I am with you. Don’t be afraid, because I am your God. I will make you strong and will help you. I will support you with my right hand that saves you.
8The Lord says, “Your thoughts are not like my thoughts. Your ways are not like my ways.
9Just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways. And my thoughts are higher than your thoughts.
10Rain and snow fall from the sky. They don’t return without watering the ground.
They cause the plants to sprout and grow. And the plants make seeds for the farmer. And from these seeds people have bread to eat.
11The words I say do the same thing. They will not return to me empty. They make the things happen that I want to happen. They succeed in doing what I send them to do.
Sometimes, things just don’t go the way we planned. We thought we’d get to go to the park, but it rains. We think we’ll get to go see a new movie, but the movie is sold out. Sometimes, bigger things happen-we might have to move away from our friends or say goodbye to someone we love. Life can be hard, but we serve a God who is always in control. No matter what happens in our world or in our own lives, God is still in control. We might not understand what is happening to us, but we can always have confidence in God’s power. The whole universe belongs to God!
Life can be really tough sometimes. We experience hard situations and difficult emotions.Thankfully, we have a Savior who walks with us every step of the way. This month, we’ll learn about broken relationships and how they can be repaired. We’ll learn how to deal with the death of a loved one and see that we can still have hope in the middle of our sadness. We’ll learn that it’s okay to feel sad or anxious, and we have a Savior who loves and helps us through all of it. We’ll also learn that even though we might experience difficult circumstances, we serve a powerful God who will always be in control.
